Girl Scout, Letter #1

Hello Girlies!

As you know, we had a meeting on September 30th. We discussed ideas about the Silver Award, some fun activities and even got our 5 committees done. This was a lot of work and I am glad that we got it done because now we can focus on our most important goal. The Silver Award. We need to concentrate 110% on the Silver Award in order to earn it quickly and smoothly. We need people to come to meetings and to stay on task. If that means to duct-tape people's mouths shut we WILL resort to it. Please note that I am very serious about girl scouts and I want this to be a truly great year.

We could also really use parental involvement in helping us find volunteer opportunities to help us make this year more productive. Our meeting on Oct. 14th will be at Lindbergh. The Silver-training place was booked. We are working on finding proper private training for you girls and should know something by tomorrow night. Parents are welcomed to attend our meetings and share ideas. (Yes, dads too!) We can't do this without you!!!

Love ya like sisters,

Girl Scout Cookies

We would like to be able to do another cookie booth - if you have an idea of where we can have another booth, let us know! Places would be lobbies of where parents work, churches, etc. Let's really put our thinking caps on.

NEWSPAPERS FOR DEARBORN ANIMAL SHELTER

Please make sure to bring any collected newspapers to the meeting tomorrow for Maddison to take to the animal shelter

SOLDIER CARE PACKS

Please let me know if you were able to secure any items for our care packages. I have had some donations in cash in lieu of actual items, and that means so very much. I really appreciate anything that anyone can raise. As Girl Scouts we need to come together and find ways to help others, it requires only putting our thinking caps on and finding ways to raise the things that our soldiers would really appreciate....and need. I would like to suggest that we take some of the dues we have collected to buy Girl Scout cookies to add to our packages. We will take a vote on that tomorrow. Please think about it and bring other ideas to the meeting.

Mall Mania!!

We need to get a final head count for Mall Mania.

WHEN: April 4, 2009
WHERE: Oakland Mall, Troy
TIME: 10:00p.m. – 5:00a.m.

We will meet at 9:00pm at the Lindbergh teacher parking lot and return approximately 6:00am on the 5th. The cost is $18, but the troop will be paying $9/girl PLUS Colleen's mom has offered to pay the other half! Colleen's birthday is April 4th so it will be a double event - Mall Mania and BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR COLLEEN!

IF you cannot make tomorrow's meeting, please let me know if you are going to be able to join us for Mall Mania. I will be sending in the troop's registration form on Thursday, so I will only be registering the girls that let me know tomorrow night.

IF any other mom's want to join us, they will also need to let me know and will be responsible for the $18 registration fee AND must be registered adult Girl Scouts. If you haven't registered yet, please make sure you let me know so we can get you registered before the event.

I just wanted to let you all know that our cookie order will be picked up Feb 7th @ 11:30am. Mrs. Rieckhoff will be picking up the cookies, so she will have to let us know when/where you can pick your cookies up from. I just wanted to let you all know so you could start thinking about it.

Also, mark your calendars!! March 15th is our cookie booth day!! We will set you up in teams of 2 (and 2 adults) to sell cookies at the Kroger's on Michigan Ave. I'll have more details once the date gets closer. :)
